Personality Squared Pinterest Boards

I have completed all the Pinterest boards for Personality Squared. Personality Squared is something I’ve been turning around in my own head ever since the Personality Plus series went up, and it’s been gratifying to me that the responses I’ve had so far are that not only is it easy for people to grasp, but they can see how they can apply it to their own style.

If you missed my last post on the subject, Personality Squared is a style system that relies not on what you look like, but rather what you’re drawn to and what feels like “you.” It can be overlaid onto other systems that do take your physical appearance into account, helping you to retain the individuality and self-expression that we sometimes lose when we focus on our own personal Dos and Don’ts. You have up to three main types, and each of these types is applied to your style in a particular way according to the function it plays for you. You can see the types in the boards linked below, and the system itself is introduced in the workbook, the purchase of which also includes membership in a Facebook group where I can provide feedback to you.

Which is your favorite? Which do you relate to the most?

The workbook is very helpful, and now you have created the Pinterest boards it’s easy to see what each type looks like. I’m definitely Free-Spirited, and have been all my life, or at least as soon as I was out of school uniform and ready for university. Florence Welch and Stevie Nix are my style icons. But Pretty is also important to me, and here I think of Nicole Kidman and her version of “romantic” dressing. I don’t have a third style at all, and as I work from home I rarely have to have anything more tailored or conventional. I always felt stifled in a suit! I think your categories make a lot of sense and they are not really covered by any other system.

Sorry, but somehow I posted two identical replies. If you can get rid of one, that would be great!

I’m glad you were able to find yourself! I really just tried to think of all the different style personalities I’ve observed in people around me. 🙂 If there are ones missing, I’m open to adding more, but I haven’t heard from anyone yet that something’s missing or that they can’t find themselves.

I gravitate to Sophisticated and Playful. I don’t know what my third type could be.

You might not have a third. Some people only have one.

I thought something was off. I sat down and thought about this some more, particularly what I wore in college.

My comfort zone is Sporty, my core is Elegant, and my aspiration is Glamorous.

        1. Playful is what I used to aspire to. I still enjoy bright colors, but don’t find myself choosing prints like the ones on the board anymore. I tend to prefer houndstooth, plaid, stripes, etc.

        2. As for Sophisticated, bold isn’t what you would call my choices in clothing.

        3. I didn’t think Sporty was my comfort zone at first, since I don’t do full blown athlesiure. However I realy do default to a graphic or tshirt designed like a sports shirt, leggings, and sneakers.

I think probably most types have some form of athleisure now, even if you’re not Sporty, because it’s just so common. I wouldn’t even really say I do athleisure with Sporty as my CZ; I do more street style. I’ll incorporate literal athletic wear, but with jeans or something. I don’t ever look like I’m coming back from yoga.
